Question 1

What is our only hope in life and death?

That we are not our own but belong to God.

Romans 14:7–8

For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.

Prayer

Lord God, we belong to you. We know you care more about us than we care about ourselves. We give all of ourselves to you and are willing to live for you, and are ready to be what you want us to be. We know our only hope is to belong to you and you alone. Amen.
