Question 25

Does Christ’s death mean all our sins can be forgiven?

Yes, because Christ’s death on the cross fully paid the penalty for our sin, God will remember our sins no more.

2 Corinthians 5:21

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we are unable with our works to redeem ourselves from the power of sin, death, and hell. But you have given us your Son, Jesus Christ, who is much stronger. Through him and through his death on the cross you have freed us from sin, death, and hell. Without cost to us and out of pure grace you have granted us all that belongs to him. For this we rejoice, praise, and thank you. Amen.
